Covid 19. Beyond the Fear

Covid 19:

There has been a tremendous amount of news about the new Coronavirus, Covid 19. It seems that fear is everywhere. Stores are selling out of toilet paper. Hand Sanitizer. And antibacterial cleaners. Even the WHO (World Health Organization) has recently come out to declare this outbreak as a pandemic. But as I reviewed the facts that are widely available. I am left to wonder why everyone is so afraid.

CoVid 19 Facts:

There are now 7 known coronavirus strains. As a matter of fact. 1/3 of all cases of the common cold can be traced to one of these viruses. Until recently, there were only two strains that proved deadly. The SARS-CoV and the MERS-Cov. This newly discovered strain, Covid 19, has also caused death. The last statistic was that about 3% of people who contract this virus. Have died. The average age of death due to the illness. Is 80 years old.

Why So Much Fear?

It is amazing to me how afraid the American public has become. I cannot recall a single time in my life where an illness has received so much media attention. Schools are closing. Professional sports have suspended their season. And the much loved NCAA March Madness tournament has even been cancelled.

For me, the scariest part of all this has been how people have responded. Since I had decided to be proactive with my health years ago. And having only rarely been sick since. I have yet to find the need to be concerned.

I have posted a video about my take on this situation. Check it out below.
